Captive Primate Safety Act 2025
Black Pine Animal Sanctuary has proudly endorsed the Captive Primate Safety Act in hopes to end the suffering of these exotic animals. It is our responsibility to speak for these animals who cannot, and we hope you’ll join us in getting this legislation approved!
Primates are wild animals, not pets or playthings. Three reasons they should not be kept in a home:
1. Primates suffer horribly as pets – torn from their mothers, caged, and isolated.
2. Over the past few decades, hundreds of people have been injured by pet primates.
3. They can easily transmit viral, bacterial, parasitic, and fungal diseases to humans.
Luckily, the Captive Primate Safety Act was just reintroduced to end the pet primate trade in the
US. Please ask your federal representative and senators to cosponsor this bill! (find them here)
