Gideon, Blue-tongued Skink

Gideon was seized by authorities from the Tri-State Zoological Park in Cumberland, Maryland, after Peta sued them for violating the Endangered Species Act (federal legislation), arriving at Black Pine in the Fall of 2022. Due to substandard husbandry and lack of veterinary care, Gideon came emaciated and severely dehydrated, unable to open his eyes, missing digits due to layers of stuck skin shed, suffering from severe Metabolic Bone Disease, a bacterial infection, and internal parasites.
