Haley, Red-footed tortoise

Haley was purchased in a pet store, but she was surrendered to Black Pine due to a lack of devotion from a family with very young children. The red-footed tortoise is one of the most popular tortoise breeds purchased as pets. A lack of consideration for several facts often lands them looking for a new home: they grow large enough that a 55-gallon aquarium at a minimum would be required for one animal, they live much longer than a pet dog or cat would, some do not care to be handled much, and they can bite.
