Mick Jackal

Mick Jackal arrived at Black Pine in the spring of 2026 having been rescued from a roadside zoo in Pennsylvania in partnership with the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Mick is a picky eater and prefers chick and venison over beef. His favorite form of enrichment is sensory! He enjoys rolling in different scents and while he is an older boy, he is still very interested in new experiences.

Fun Facts:

There are three different species of Jackal inhabiting different parts of Africa: golden, side-striped and black-backed. Jackals are actually monogamous, choosing their mate for life.
